In 2004, Alfred and Peggy Lee purchased the Power Family’s Queen Ann Victorian Mansion in historic Downtown, Auburn. 

The Power family  discovered gold in the Hidden Treasure mine along the Foresthill divide and built the Mansion from a gold mining fortune. 

The Lee’s and the Power’s became the best of friends.  The Lee’s restored the Mansion and today operate it as a boutique Bed and Breakfast, serve Victorian Tea, and hold beautiful Weddings on the historic Mansion grounds.  In 2005, the Lee’s purchased the adjoining Livingston Building and built a magnificent Reception Ballroom. 

In March of 2008, James Visel Power (Alfred’s best of friends) passed away.  Jim was of Irish descent and the great Grandson of the Honorable Harold T.  Power (the gold miner who built the Power’s Mansion). We all miss him a lot. 

In honor of our best friend, Alfred decided to build the “James Visel Power Fan Club” next door to the Mansion (in the Livingston Building) what you fondly know today as The Power Club, an Irish pub and Brewery. 

After graduating from UCLA's School of Engineering and attending Law school at USC, Alfred went to Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Academy and also studied to become a a Federal Brew master. 

A year after our Irish friend’s passing, Liz Power (Jim’s wife) and Alfred,dedicated and opened The Power Club restaurant and Brewery.  At the Power Club, we make our own fresh handcrafted microbrews.  Here, every drink served  is a “toast” to our best friend: James Visel Power.

Our Business

We are a Professional Brewery and we handcraft the finest microbrews in town.  We challenge you to compare our beer's taste, drinkability, after taste and quality by alcohol content to any custom brew.  You'll see why we're the number one brewery in town.

Our Pilsner is a light, flavorful and refreshing, yet not filling beer. It is made with a combination of fresh Liberty hops from Washington and the prized East Kent Goldings aroma hop from England.  It has a well-rounded, malty character and a great after taste. 

Our Stout is a rich, dark beer made with 4 varieties of malt:  Minnesota 2-row brewer’s malt, English chocolate, black malt and roasted barley.  The combination of ingredients give this beer a  pleasant, malty, coffee-like character to the finish.  Our stout is flavorful, strong, yet light for as dark as we brew it.

Our Nut brown is the best of both worlds.  It has the malty character of our rich stout blended with the refreshing taste of our pilsner.  It has a unique Nutty taste  you’ll love.

Our Red Ale is one of the most refreshing, flavorful and great tasting beers you’ll ever have.  Similar in color to the English Bass Ale with the hoppy character of beers like Sierra Nevada. Try it on a hot Summer day.

Our Bock Dark is similar to American Bock  Beers of the early 1960’s that still had the robust flavor and hoppy character of those seasonal dark beers.

Our Hefeweizen is a light, thirst-quenching  wheat beer, made with 2-row brewers malt and white wheat malt.  It is hopped with Liberty and the acclaimed Oregon Crystal aroma hop. Enjoy it with a lemon or an orange slice.
